Lovely morning here after a very frosty night. Our second day of the season. We are expecting to be busy in the afternoon as its a perfect day for climbing the lighthouse tower.

We open up for business on Thursday 1st April. Hopefully the weather will be a bit more Spring like by then!
The strong wind is keeping our new turbine turning away nicely. Will post some pictures up shortly.

After a bright sunny day yesterday we are experiencing some heavy showers this morning. Wind is strong from the south west so the sea breaking on the shore south of the lighthouse is very spectacular.
Hopefully the sun will come out to welcome our guests for the opening of the geopark room.

Tuesday 8th September sees the official opening of our new Geopark room. As a thanks to all who helped with this project, the trustees are holding an open day at the lighthouse.

Another fine day with Barra & South Uist very clear.

Huge amounts of mackerel shoaling round the point but no sign of any Whales so far this week.

The new picnic benches are in place and are being well used in this great weather. Ice cream sales are rocketing!

The tower is getting busier every day as most of the Scottish Schools are now on holiday.

We are waiting for the confirmation of funding from LEADER before making a start to our Turbine Project. Hopefully it will be up and running by the end of the season
